What types can switchgear be divided into?
Switchgear is a general term for motor control center. They distribute electrical energy from a circuit of a higher distribution device to a nearby load. This class of equipment shall provide load protection, monitoring, and control.

According to the structural characteristics and uses of the switch cabinet, it can be classified as:
1. Fixed panel switch cabinet, often called switch board or distribution panel. It is a kind of open switch cabinet switchgear with panel blocking. The front side has a protective effect, the back and side can still touch the live part. The protection level is low. It can only be used in industrial and mining enterprises with low requirements on power supply continuity and reliability, as a centralized power supply substation room.
2. Protective (closed) switchgear refers to a low-pressure industrial switchgear in which all sides are closed except the mounting surface. The switch, protection and monitoring control and other electrical components of this kind of switchgear is installed in a closed shell made of steel or insulating materials, and it can be installed against or off a wall. No isolation measures can be added between each circuit in the switchgear, or the grounding metal plate or insulation board can be used for isolation. Usually the door is mechanically interlocked with the main switch operation. In addition, there are protective table-type switchgear (that is, the console), the panel is equipped with control, measurement, signal and other electrical appliances. Protective switchgear is mainly used as a power distribution device in the process site.
3. Withdrawable switchgear. This kind of switchgear is made of steel plate closed shell, the electrical components of the incoming and outgoing circuit are installed in the drawer that can be extracted, forming a functional unit that can complete a kind of power supply task. The functional unit and the bus or cable are separated by a grounding metal plate or a function plate made of plastic to form three areas: the bus, the function unit and the cable. There are also isolation measures between each functional unit. Drawer type low voltage switchboard has higher reliability, safety and interchangeability, and it is a relatively advanced switchgear. The drawer type switch cabinet is suitable for industrial and mining enterprises and high-rise buildings that require high reliability of power supply as centralized control distribution centers.
4. Power and lighting distribution control box. Mostly closed vertical installation. Because of the use of different occasions, the shell protection level is different. They are mainly used as power distribution devices in production sites of industrial and mining enterprises.
